Essena O'Neil has an obsession with social media, she admitted it herself. This viral video is just another beg for attention. Although, I believe that her feelings are true, she feels worthless and sad, which is common when you are popular on social media because you begin to feel that people only like you for your your body. O'Neil is young and has a life ahead of her, she doesn't need to be crying for help from her followers on her website asking for help financially. O'Neil asking for money is making the whole situation look like a hoax. On the other hand, if O'Neil went through with disregarding all social media, she would seem more serious and genuine. Since she created a website and is asking for funding's, she looks fake. She is 19, she has the opportunity to find herself and find a career that doesn't make her feel so self-conscious.
